The Kaena Story

Founded in 2001, Kaena Wines is the realization of Mikael Sigouin's deep passion for Grenache. Our name, "Kaena," means "potential for greatness" in Hawaiian, reflecting Mikael's island roots and his vision for winemaking excellence.

Sourcing primarily from prestigious vineyards in the Ballard Canyon AVA, including Tierra Alta, La Presa, and Larner, we produce approximately 2,000 cases annually, focusing on Rhône varietals with an emphasis on Grenache.

Accolades and Expertise

Mikael's dedication to handcrafted wines has earned him recognition as one of Wine Spectator's top 10 new Rhône producers in 2006. Known affectionately as "The Grenache King," Mikael continues to push the boundaries of winemaking, creating truly exceptional vintages.
