2023 Viognier
Sourced from the prize limestone laden hillsides of Tierra Alta Vineyard located on the northeastern portion of Ballard Canyon. Grapes were picked at 23.5 brix to preserve the beautiful character of this amazing vineyard and create a well-balanced Viognier in the style of Condrieu in the northern Rhone. Grapes were whole cluster pressed and fermented cold in the tank. Post primary fermentation the wine was racked to neutral French oak and aged for 5 months prior to bottling.
Tasting notes:
Beautiful aromas of peach blossom, lychee, and Asian pear along with scents of mineral, stone fruit, and ginger flower. Delicate flavors of white peach, stone, and star fruit, lead to an elegant core of lychee, citrus blossom, and mineral, finishing long, bright, and complex. This wine will pair beautifully with seafood and Asian cuisine.
